Sorry it has been so long since things have been updated around here, but it has been a busy couple of weeks. As you can tell, this website has been redone and I think it is for the better. There is more structure and it is easier for you to navigate.
One of the things you might notice is that the old “Store” section is now titled “Spices and More.” When you click this link, you will be able to buy the Men Cook Too cookbook, accessories, and spices. We have been developed several spices in the past several months and there are big plans in the coming months that will see Men Cook Too’s signature spices reach new heights. In the meantime, there are three spices, Cajun Blackened Seasoning, Dry Rub, and Taco Seasoning that are available, but keep an eye out for a Caribbean Jerk Spice and a Dry Jerk Spice Rub. We are always working on new spices and don’t distribute them until the recipe is perfected.
Another thing you may notice within that page is there is a “Men Cook Too Holiday Package.” This package is a great deal for anyone that loves cooking. You will get one autographed copy of Men Cook Too, three 2 oz. spices (one each of the three currently in the store), one Men Cook Too corkscrew, and 2 Men Cook Too beer glasses. These glasses are out of this world and are not the typical glass you see at your local bar. You won’t be disappointed! This package would normally retail for $64.95, but will be available for just $44.95 plus shipping. Any orders placed before December 14, 2014 are guaranteed to be delivered by Christmas.
Another new menu item you’ll notice is “Shop.” This is an external page that I set up to offer my readers all my Men Cook Too items. As a small business, it’s difficult for us to keep stock of cell phones cases and shirts, so Spreadshirt has been a major help in allowing our fans a chance to support Men Cook Too in public with one of the more than a dozen items available.
Hopefully you all enjoy the new layout and keep an eye out for this page as we will be posting anywhere from one to three recipes each week. Some of these recipes may be easier than the others, but they will all end up satisfying your hungry family each night.
Welcome again to Men Cook Too and another quality weekend filled with great friends, food and of course, The Walking Dead. As I enter the final two week stretch in the Kickstarter campaign for my cookbook, Men Cook Too, I am happy to say we are now so close to being 50 percent funded. I was hoping to reach that mark by the end of tonight, so guess what friends, there is still time!
I’ve had a busy couple of weeks since launching the Kickstarter for my cookbook, but I found some time to make a guest post over on my friend, Tia’s blog, A Caffeinated Brunette. Tia graciously let me write a post about my cookbook and I gave her readers a recipe from the cookbook for Baked Stuffed Shells filled with Spinach, Ground Beef and Ricotta Cheese, served with a Cream Sauce. Everyone should head over and check out the post and look around because I am sure you will find something you like!
On a side note, I want to let you all in on what I am planning on making this week for Men Cook Too. I’ve had a lot of creative ideas to mind in the past couple of days and while I don’t want to give away all my secrets, I will let you know a little something about what’s getting added.
For cocktails, all fans of Fireball Whiskey will enjoy the special concoction I am putting together, while lovers of Brie Cheese will enjoy the twist I put on a timeless favorite. I will also take a popular party appetizer to another level as I create a new meaning for finger food, bring out my Portuguese roots with a popular soup and bring a taste of New Orleans to the world.
That’s all for now, folks! Enjoy your night and keep checking back to this blog, A Caffeinated Brunette and please continue to support my Kickstarter!
Ahhh, it’s finally Saturday, which means most of us have two days off until we have to go back to work. Well, that is partly true for me, as I technically don’t have to work during the weekend, but I have some freelance work to do and of course, I need to keep the momentum rolling for the Men Cook Too Kickstarter page and this website. To keep the momentum rolling along for this cookbook, I need to keep on adding more amazing dishes to Men Cook Too.
As I look ahead to this weekend, I am working on several new recipes for Men Cook Too, including Spiced Pig’s, Chicken Meatloaf and a perfect holiday season cocktail. As I let your imagination wander as to what each of these items are, I will say to all of you, keep us bookmarked for more information and enjoy your weekend.
So yesterday, I walked through my local grocery store and was searching for some products to work on my next set of recipes for “Men Cook Too.” I won’t ruin the surprise and tell you all everything I am going to make, but I will say I bought sausage links, croissant rolls, ground chicken, mozzarella and ground beef. I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve for recipes with these items and like I said, I’m not going to ruin the surprise for everything.
What I did do last night with the mozzarella and ground beef was make a special stuffed meatball served with a garlic and oregano tomato sauce. If you want the entire recipe for this delicious meal, please head to Kickstarter and pledge for “Men Cook Too.” I appreciate all your help!
Please share this post, like Men Cook Too on Facebook, follow me on Twitter and help make my cookbook a success!
(P.S. Excuse my terrible cover photo as I used my iPhone and I’m not even close to as good as Sarah!
After all the hard work just getting to this point, I can happily say that the Kickstarter campaign to get Men Cook Too funded is now officially live. I appreciate all the support I can get from all of you. So please share the link, pledge whatever you can afford and thank you in advance for your support.
You can check out the Kickstarter campaign here!
Yesterday was a busy day when it came to putting together the final touches on my Kickstarter campaign. I finalized (I think and I hope) my reward pledges, did the final research on all the costs that would be needed to make my dream come true and all that is left now is to make a short video about the project and upload a few pictures into the actual campaign.
With that being said, the first tip (of many to come throughout the life of my campaign) I will pass along to anyone attempting to launch a Kickstarter campaign of any kind is to do all the research humanly possible. By looking at other campaigns that were successful and unsuccessful in the same category as your product. This will allow you to see what worked for them in terms of rewards and what is a reachable budget goal to set.
Hopefully, by this time tomorrow, I will be able to tell you guys that my Kickstarter is submitted for approval and I am feeling a little less stress for a few days.
The life of a writer is an interesting one, that’s for sure. With freelance work, you never know what your next big gig will be, but when it comes to being an author, you control your own fate. I have never published a book before, but that will soon change. I am currently putting the final touches on a Kickstarter campaign for a cookbook geared towards men. I will go into more when the campaign goes live, but for now, it’s just exciting getting this close. I’m not close to being done with the book yet, but as we get closer to the holidays, I know I will get the book from 35 percent done to 100 percent in no time.
At this stage in the process, all I have left to get the campaign submitted for approval is add pictures to some of the delicious meals I have already created and create a quick video to add to the submission. By showcasing some of the completed dishes, I am hoping to show the Kickstarter community that my book is unique and different than anything else on the market today.
That’s all for now, but I will continue to keep you all posted on how it’s going and what’s next for the project.
Have a great day!
Welcome to Men Cook Too. This website is meant to function for various reasons. It will be an area where I talk about the process I will soon be entering into as I look to get my cookbook geared for men funded through Kickstarter. I am planning on writing several posts each week about the how the process is going, tips I may have come up with and to show my emotions on the matter.
Another aspect of this website is reviewing other cookbooks, recipes and products meant for everyday use in kitchens. I want to share my experiences with the products I already have in my kitchen and those I want to add one day.
Finally, this website is here to show the world that Men Cook Too and that we can do more than just run the grill at the summer BBQ.
I hope you all enjoy what you read and if you do, please share the page, Tweet and Facebook your favorite posts and don’t forget to pledge for my book!
